Masters
The rights in a specific recording of a track.
Whoever owns the master owns that recording. Labels traditionally own masters for a set term; self releasing artists keep them. Masters are separate from the composition (publishing) rights.
Use this in your own career
audioglyph.io keeps your press kit, artist page, smart links, contacts, contracts and analytics together, so terms like masters turn into decisions you can actually track.
